Concrete / Gunite
If you can sketch it, we can pour it.
Gunite is steel-reinforced concrete applied pneumatically — which is a fancy way of saying your pool can be any shape, any depth, with any feature: sharp modern geometry, a freeform lagoon, a swim-up ledge, a spa that spills over the edge.

How a Pleasant Pools concrete pool gets built.
We excavate to your design, tie a steel rebar cage, and pneumatically apply the concrete — guniting or shotcreting depending on the build — so the shell is one continuous structure with no seams and no panels.
The interior gets a hand-troweled plaster finish (with upgraded aggregate and pebble options), and the waterline gets real ceramic tile with your choice of brick or stone coping. Water features, tanning ledges, and attached spas are formed as part of the shell — not bolted on later.
Oklahoma soil moves, so we engineer for it. Fifty years of building in this exact clay is the difference between a pool that lasts and a pool that cracks.
Fair questions.
How long does a concrete pool take to build?
Typically 10–14 weeks from excavation to swim-ready, weather permitting. We give you an honest timeline before we dig — and update you when Oklahoma weather has opinions.
How long does the plaster finish last?
With properly balanced water, 12–15 years. When it’s time, replastering refreshes the pool to like-new — a service our renovation crews handle constantly.
Is concrete more expensive than vinyl?
Usually yes — gunite starts around $68,000 in the OKC metro versus roughly $42,000 for vinyl. You’re paying for total design freedom and the longest structural life of any pool type. Try the Price Your Pool tool for a real number.
Can you add a spa or waterfall later?
It’s far cheaper to build them into the shell now. Retrofits are possible, but if a spa is on your someday-list, tell us at design time.
Do you handle permits and utilities?
Yes — permitting, utility locates, and inspections are part of every build. You pick finishes; we handle the paperwork.
